Welcome Back!

Welcome back students!
These are just some of the art projects to look forward to this year...
Kinders
Drawing people, learning about famous artists such as Vincent VanGogh, Piet Mondrian, and Joan Miro plus learning all about colors and how to make them. We will even learn about our friend Roy G. Biv!

1st
Famous paintings including Starry Night and the Mona Lisa, plus we will learn about the building blocks of art: line, shape, and color. We will get a little bit messy by experimenting with watercolors and different painting techniques.

2nd
Art history starting with cave art and the Egyptians then traveleing all the way to New York City with Pop art. Landscape, pattern and symmetry will also be explored.

3rd
Art history focusing on The Mona Lisa, American Gothic, the Persistance of Memory (melting clock painting) and The Scream. Then we will turn our attention to texture, basic perspective, and block lettering.

4th
We will start with value and then move on to forms, highlights and shadows, while also introducing one point perspective. We will then venture into still life drawing and explore colored pencil techniques.

5th
In 5th grade we introduce Realism, review value and various drawing techniques such as stippling and perspective while also delving into color theory and art history.

6th
Drawing forms and shading, self-portraits, color theory, art history and sculpture are some of the projects we will cover in 6th grade.
