Art Rubric

The below rubric will be utilized for behavior and participation, assignments/worksheets/activities, and final projects this year in Art Class. Understanding and Application of Key Concepts	The student does not demonstrate understanding of key concepts, artists/artwork or vocabulary. The student does not apply any concepts to the assignment.	The student shows some understanding of key concepts, artists/artwork, or vocabulary. The student does not properly apply knowledge to assignment.	The student understands the concepts, artist/artwork, and vocabulary being taught and successfully applies them to the assignment.	The student demonstrates understanding beyond proficiency. The student applies knowledge from current and previous lessons.
Craftsmanship and Use of Materials	The student demonstrates a complete lack of craftsmanship. The materials were used incorrectly or not at all.	The student lacks craftsmanship. The materials and tools require more practice.	The work shows neatness, precision and care. Materials are used as intended. The student demonstrates appropriate level of skill.
