Learning about Lascaux

Second grade is learning about the caves at Lascaux, France. In these caves are drawings done by cavemen. When teaching the students the pronunciation of Lascaux I tell them to say the word "lost" and "cow" as in a moo or farm cow.

Ms. Pasco: "Who can tell me the name of the village where the cave drawings were found?"
Second grade student: "lost. . . . . . . "
Ms. Pasco: "lost farm. . . . . . . . "
Student: "lost moo moo?"
